Our Mission Statement
Our History
Our mission is to provide the best value in
home furnishings and appliances in Southeast
Missouri. We will provide the highest level of
service possible to all of our customers.
While always focusing on our customers, we
wish to provide a great environment for our
employees where they can achieve their own
personal goals.
Fisher Furniture
After years at his position as sales manager, Don Moses, with his wife
Patsyie, purchased Fisher Furniture from Fred Fisher upon his
retirement in 1973. In those early days, Don would sell a sofa, then
close the store while he delivered it himself! The store was located at
127 North Main Street in Ironton, Missouri - the building now serves as
the Ironton City Hall. Fred remained at Fisher's until his passing in
1979.
Don and Patsyie moved Fisher's onto the "new" State Hwy. 21 bypass
in 1980, where it stands today. Don, Patsyie, and brother Joe Weiss
were the only employees for a short time in the early 1980s, but were
soon joined with another brother, Ron Gibbs.
Fisher's has allowed the Moses family to raised four children, three of
whom serve our country proudly in the armed forces. The millennium
brought daughter Vicki (Moses) Oberle to serve as president of
Fisher's, giving Don and Patsyie the opportunity to spend more time
with their grandchildren.
Though we have lost two important family members and co-workers,
Joe and Ron, we are blessed with our staff today. Manager Denny
McCarty, salesman Ted Scarbrough, and transportation specialists
George Vance and Spencer Helms. We are committed to giving back
to our community and supporting the customers we serve. We are a
Christian company and will conduct ourselves as such, at work and at
home.
